Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 July 2026

Privacy is a human right. SmokeVPN is built to know as little about you as possible. This policy explains what we do and do not collect, and why. It works alongside our Terms of Service.

What we do NOT collect

  • No activity or traffic logs. We do not record the websites, services, or content you access. Traffic data exists only in volatile memory and is scrubbed.
  • No DNS query logs and no per-connection timestamps tied to your activity. We keep no bandwidth history and no record of where you go. We do keep a single running total of bytes (a quantity only) - to enforce a free trial's allowance, and to catch extreme abuse of the shared network - described below.
  • No storage of your real IP address. For abuse protection only, we keep a salted, irreversible hash of connecting IP addresses with simple counters; this cannot be turned back into your IP and is not linked to your activity.
  • No name, email, or password is required to use the service.
  • No third-party trackers, analytics, or advertising. No third-party scripts run on our site.

What we store (the minimum to run the service)

  • Account: your 16-digit account number, your subscription status and paid-through date, your chosen default exit, your device limit, when the account was created, and the time of your most recent login (a timestamp only, with no traffic information).
  • Devices: a name you choose, the device's WireGuard public key, the internal VPN address assigned to it, and the exit you selected for it. We do not record any traffic that passes through it.
  • Proxies: the username, password, and endpoint generated for your SOCKS5 and HTTP proxies.
  • Payments: the amount, currency, plan, an opaque order reference, the payment provider's reference, and the date. We do not store your wallet address, payer identity, or other personal payment details.
  • Sessions: only a hash of your login session token and its expiry, never the raw token.
  • Data volume (a quantity only): a single running count of the total bytes used - never a record of the sites you visit, your destinations, timestamps, or any content. On a free trial it enforces your data allowance and shows on your dashboard. On paid accounts we keep only a brief, in-memory tally - wiped when the server restarts - used solely to spot extreme abuse of the shared network, never for billing.

The logless tunnel

Our servers keep no on-disk record of your connections or the destinations you reach. We cannot produce a history of your activity because we do not have one.

Cookies

We use a single, strictly necessary cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies.

Payments and third parties

Payments are handled by a third-party cryptocurrency payment provider. To take a payment we send only what is necessary, and we deliberately avoid sending anything that identifies you (we send our own server's address and a generic placeholder, never your identity). Your interaction with the payment provider and the blockchain is governed by their terms and is outside our control. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.

Legal requests

We may respond to valid legal requests. However, because we are logless by design, we simply do not hold information about your activity, so there is little we are able to provide.

Data retention

We keep account, subscription, device, and proxy data while your account exists. Payment records are kept only as long as needed for accounting and anti-fraud purposes. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

Your choices

You can stop using the service at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account; deleting it ends the service for that account. Because we hold no activity data, there is no browsing history to export or erase.

Security

We minimize what we collect, hash secrets where we can, scope access tightly, and keep the system logless. No system is perfectly secure, but holding little data is our strongest protection of your privacy.

Children

SmokeVPN is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.

Changes

We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above shows the current version. Material changes take effect when posted here.
